Another batch of 150 rehabilitated LTTE cadres will be released by the Sri Lankan authorities this week. Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe said that these former combatants are undergoing a final test in mason skills, handicraft work and paintings. The rehabilitated cadres according to the authorities have been given vocational, language and communication training to improve their skills and their educational knowledge. According to the government website 7969 out of 11,700 surrendered LTTE cadres, have been released and further 2879, are undergoing the rehabilitation process in the camps. A sum of 750 million rupees have been allocated for the rehabilitation process for this year.
