In Sri Lanka, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested an astrologer Vijitha Rohana Wijemuni, for circulating a video on Facebook forecasting the death of President Sirisena. He is expected to be produced before court later today.<br/><br/>Earlier, a senior government official had lodged a complaint with the police for an investigation against Wijemuni. The official said he saw a conspiracy as it could be part of a wider plot to assassinate the President. <br/><br/>Incidentally, the astrologer, a former Sri Lankan sailor had attacked visiting Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi with a rifle butt in 1987 during the latter's visit to Colombo to sign the Indo- Sri Lanka accord. He was court-martialled and became an astrologer after serving his jail term.
