Forty six people have been killed and four others injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rain in Maungtaw township of western Rakhine state in Myanmar, over the past four days since the weekend. The official daily New Light of Myanmar reported on Thursday the heavy rain and strong wind, that also swept the state's four other townships of Minbya, Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw and Buthitaung, blew off roofs of many houses and fell some buildings, causing damage to bridges and erosion of some sections of roads in the three prior townships. Rescue work and evacuation of flood victims are underway.
