Four hill districts of Uttarakhand have been completely cut off for the third consecutive day on Wednesday due to disruption in road communications following landslides triggered by heavy rains. Executive Director of Disaster Mitigation and Management Centre, Dehradun Dr. Piyush Rautela, said fifteen persons were reported killed in rain related incidents in the state during the last three days. The Met department has predicted light to moderate rain in the coming 24 hours.According to AIR correspondent, as per reports all the major roads including Chardham Yatra routes have been blocked. Pithoragarh, Almora, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and some other parts of the state were cut off due to road blockage. Supply of essential commodities has been disrupted in many parts of the state. Meanwhile flood like situation was reported in Luxor area of Haridwar. Disaster Mitigation and Management Centre has asked for assistance to the military officers to rescue the affected people. Four boats have also been sought from the army for conduct up of relief and rescue operations.
