In Uttarakhand Landslides triggered by heavy rains blocked the Rishikesh-Badreenath national highway in Chamolee District today, leaving hundreds of pilgrims stranded on both sides. The landslides struck the NH-58 at various places. According to reports the personnel of the state police and Border Road Organisation have been pressed into service to clear the debris and open the road for vehicular traffic. Heavy rain occurred at many places in the state during last twenty four hours. Met department predicts that moderate to heavy rain may occur at some places in next twenty four hours.
