Landmine blast triggered by Naxals kills 2 CRPF officials in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, two CRPF officials, including a deputy commandant, were killed and 12 security personnel injured in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Sukma district today.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Sukma, said the incident took place this morning in a forest near Bodhrajpadar village. According to agency reports the evacuation process is on and two helicopters have been sent to retrieve the injured jawans.

Earlier in Bijapur district of tribal Bastar region, three Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces last night.

AIR correspondent reports that the encounter took place in Farsegarh area during a search operation. Besides the bodies of Maoists, Police recovered some arms and ammunition from the spot.
