In Odisha, the land acquisition process for the mega POSCO steel project is likely to begin from today near Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district. District Magistrate and Collector of Jagatsighpur, Narayan Chandra Jena, said the officials would resume the land acquisition work in the proposed plant site villages anytime today. The land acquisition work for the biggest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the country to the tune of 52,000 crore rupees was stopped about nine months ago due to stop work order by Ministry of Environment and Forests.
