<span style="color: #222222;">Land acquisition for the ambitious Surat- Chennai National Highway Corridor in Nashik is expected to begin soon. Guardian Minister of Nashik  Chhagan Bhujbal has directed the officials to begin the land acquisition process for this project in a review meeting held in the district yesterday. The four-lane corridor under Bharatmala Pariyojana, a Centrally-sponsored project is considered to be the game changer for improving road connectivity of major cities in four states of the country.<br />''<br />''As part of the proposal to improve road connectivity between major cities in the country, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has decided to develop the Chennai-Surat National Highway corridor. The four-lane corridor under Bharatmala Pariyojana,is planned to run about 1,461 km passing through Nashik, Ahmednagar, Solapur districts of Maharashtra. Considering the importance of the project Nashik's Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal held a review meeting and directed the officials to initiate the process of land acquisition for the project. The acquisition will take place in almost 69 villages of Surgana, Peth, Dindori, Nashik, Nifad and Sinnar tehsil of Nashik district. Bhujbal has assured that he will ensure to give maximum compensation to farmers for their land. This project is expected to reduce the travelling time to only two hours between Nashik and Surat and also expected to cut the distance between Chennai and Mumbai by almost 120 kilometres.</span><br />
