Lalu-Mulayam-Sharad ask PM to defer Women's bill, call all-party meet

The RJD Chief, Mr Lalu Prasad has said that they have urged the Prime Minister to hold an all-party meeting and defer the women's reservation bill. He was speaking to media in New Delhi after he and the leaders of Samajwadi Party, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav and JD(U) leader, Mr Sharad Yadav met Dr Manmohan Singh Tuesday morning.<br/><br/>The meeting comes a day after there was ruckus in the Rajya Sabha by the RJD and Samajwadi Party members in support of their demand for the withdrawal of the bill.<br/><br/>The Constitutional amendment bill providing for 33 per cent reservation of seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures was moved for consideration by the Law Minister, Mr. Veerappa Moily in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.<br/><br/>However, the bill could neither be discussed nor put to vote due to the stiff opposition by the SP and RJD. The bill is listed for consideration on Tuesday.<br/><br/>The Samajwadi Party today alleged that the Congress party is behaving in a fascist manner. The party leader Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav said that the ruling party has become arrogant in power and is not ready to listen to anybody.
