Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Mr. Lalu Prasad today met Congress president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. AIR correspondent quoting highly placed sources reports both the leaders discussed the possibilities of a Congress-RJD alliance for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, likely to be held early next year. The alliance between the two parties broke during the last Lok Sabha elections.<br/><br/>Jharkhand has been under President's Rule for the past eight months after no party could form a government in the wake of the resignation of Jharkhand Mukthi Morcha chief Shibu Soren as<br/><br/>Chief Minister.<br/><br/>The meeting of Mr. Prasad with Ms Gandhi also assumes significance in the context of reports that Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had recommended a CBI probe into the alleged recruitment irregularities in the Ministry during his tenure.
