The Lalit Modi controversy continues to rock the Rajya Sabha proceedings leading to its repeated adjournments in the pre-lunch session today. Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari and his Deputy Prof. P J Kurien made allout efforts to bring the House in order and take up the listed business amidst noisy scenes by Opposition Congress members, who insisted on the resignation of top BJP leaders on Lalit Modi issue. Chairman tried to take up the Question Hour and Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda replied to a supplementary on Cancer amidst opposition uproar. However, as the agitating Congress members repeatedly trooped into the well raising slogans, the House was initially adjourned till Noon, then for half-an-hour and again till 2 PM.<br/><br/>Earlier, Naresh Agarwal of the Samajwadi party said the dignity of Parliamentarians is being eroded with the malicious remarks in media and by those who are at the helm of affairs. He wanted the House to discuss the issue saying such remarks tarnish the image of the MPs. Deputy Chairman Prof P J Kurien asked him to give a notice after the Leader of the Opposition Gulam Nabi Azad supported Mr Agarwal's proposal for holding a discussion.
