Uttar Pradesh government today filed status report on investigation before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court into the alleged rape and murder of a teenage girl in the premises of Nighasan Police station in Lakhimpur Kheri district. Fixing 4th of next month as next date of hearing, the court has asked the government to file complete investigation report.Advocate general appeared before a vacation bench comprising Justices SN Shukla and DK Arora and filed the status report. The court was hearing a PIL seeking a CBI probe into the case and for compensation of 25 lakh rupees to the victim's family.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the victim's body was found hanging inside the police station on June 10. State government has handed over the case to CB CID of state police to probe the case.Meanwhile, parents of the deceased girl handed over an application to the district administration seeking CBI probe into the incident. District administration has forwarded it to the state government to decide and take further action.
