Lahore HC orders quashing of two terror cases against Saeed

India has expressed surprise at the Lahore High Court’s order to dispose off the anti-terror case against Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, the alleged mastermind behind the Mumbai terror attacks. Reacting strongly to the decision, External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna said Pakistan must ensure the arrest of all 26/11 culprits.<br/><br/>He said that it is surprising that Saeed .The brain behind the Mumbai blasts has been let off by the Pakistan court. Mr. Krishna said that Pakistan should conduct a probe on Saeed's role in the attacks. Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court ordered the case against Saeed to be disposed off, saying the country’s anti-terror laws did not apply to him.<br/><br/>Saeed’s lawyer A K Dogar said the case against his client was weak as it lacked credible evidence. Dogar said that there is no evidence against Saeed and his client was wrongly accused of terror.<br/> <br/>Congress today termed quashing of two cases against JuD chief Hafiz Mohd Saeed by a Pakistani court as serious development saying the international community should take note of it. Party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said that the development means that Pakistani authorities did not present properly the evidence given by India against Saeed in the court.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the BJP has alleged that the Pakistan court order quashing cases against Hafiz Saeed is a big setback to India's efforts to bring him to justice and proof that Pakistan does not want to act against those behind the attack. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said India should ensure that either Pakistan hand over the 26/11 accused or take action against them. He said Pakistan is trying to bury the case and falsify the truth.<br/>
