LAHDC elections: 68 candidates withdrawn their nominations

In Ladakh Automous Hill Development Council elections 68 candidates have withdrawn their nominations. Withdrawal process of nominations was completed yesterday. Total 94 Candidates remained in fray after the withdrawals in the ensuing Leh Hill Development Council elections. AIR correspondent reports that after completion of withdrawals of nominations, BJP and Congress have one candidate each in 26 Council constituencies. The new entrant in Ladakh politics Aam Aadami Party is fielding 19 candidates. Similarly, 23 independent candidates are also in the contest for Leh Hill Development Council.<br />'' <br />''On the other hand, BJP has taken the elections prestigious and fielding Union Ministers for campaigning in Leh. Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched BJP election campaign from Leh, highlighting various development activities by the Modi Government including UT status to Ladakh. He will campaign in Leh and surroundings on Thursday as well.  Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Kiren Rijiju are also scheduled to visit Leh for Election campaign in the next one week.<br />'' <br />''In the meantime, Congress has released it's manifesto for 6th General Council election to LAHDC Leh. Manifesto underlined the importance of 6th Schedule Safeguards for Ladakh. Apart from the sentimental subject, Congress also assured betterment in education, employment, Health and agriculture.<br />
