Lagarde promises to make IMF more open to developing countries

The new head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde has promised to make the organisation more open to developing countries. In her first comments since taking up her new role, the former French Finance Minister said, the IMF must better reflect the shifting balance of power in the global economy. Both China and India have complained that they suffer under-representation at the IMF. Ms Lagarde said she has already made efforts to reach out to all IMF nations.
