<span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a special mention about ultra modern sports infrastructure in Leh, in his today's Mann Ki Baat. After becoming Union Territory sports infrastructure is given special emphasis in Ladakh region.<br />'' <br />'' Outdoor stadium and youth Hostels in Leh was a languishing project put on acceleration by the UT Administration. Under the Khelo India programme, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju laid foundation for over a Ten crore rupees worth Synthetic Track &amp; Astroturf for football at an open stadium and for Gymnasium Hall in NDS stadium costing over One and half crore rupees, on 14th September 2020, in Leh.<br />'' <br />'' The works are in final stages, while Astro Turf and Synthetic track &nbsp;are serving the players in Ladakh. Similarly, UT Administration is improving infrastructure at Sports Authority of India centre, in Kargil. Ladakh is improving the Leh and Kargil districts with Ice Hockey rinks, grounds and gymnasiums to encourage the students towards taking up the sports as a career.<br />'' <br />'' At an altitude of over 11,500 feet, state of art sports infrastructure provides an additional edge to the already talented sports persons with natural endurance in Ladakh.<br />''<br />''The UT administration is working on facilities and encouragement to the sports persons, to produce Olympians from Ladakh, in the next five years.</span>
