At the base camp of Pangong Tso in Ladakh on the Finger 4 and Finger 5 locations, a scuffle broke out between the Indian Army and the Chinese People's Liberation Army on 14th August early morning. <br/><br/>The 135-km lomg Pangong Tso lake is 20% on the Indian side and 80% on the Chinese side. Such small face offs used to happen earlier but they have never taken this kind of proportion with national media of both sides giving prime space to this scuffle. <br/><br/>The Indian border with China is increasingly showing signs of unrest at various points following the Chinese side starting to build road on the tri-junction of Doklam shared by India, China and Bhutan.<br/><br/>The incident occurred when PLA and Indian Army were patrolling the lake. It is alleged that the PLA encroached on the Indian side, which eventually resulted in the scuffle. Ceremonial Border meetings called Border Point Meeting was cancelled for the first time in 12 years due to the scuffle. <br/><br/>Heads of the bordering villages have been instructed to be alert and be present in their respective villages as the matter is tired to be resolved early with dialogue and discussion. The Army is also in touch with local and district heads for an early resolution to the problem.
