Ladakh: MoS I&B Rajyavardhan Rathore hoists National flag at Khardung La pass

In Ladakh, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore today hoisted the national flag at Khardung La pass, which is the highest motorable road in the world. Mr Rathore also welcomed the group of 35 women bike riders who created history by unfurling the 75 feet long national flag at a height of 18,380 feet above sea level at Khardung La pass. <br/><br/>The group covered an over 10,000 km long journey from Gujarat to Khardung La on their motor bikes to spread the message of women empowerment. The 'All India All Women Bike Rally' that started on July 19 from Surat, went through 15 states before coming to end today.<br/> <br/>On this occasion, Mr Rathore, who himself is a world class sportsman, praised the women bikers for their will and initiative. He said, this biking group went to Kanyakumari and then reached to Khardung La where it is not easy to survive in low oxygen and high altitude condition. He said, these women have the energy and the determination of the 21st century women and all Indians are proud of them.
