Ladakh LG R K Mathur to lay foundation stone for strategic roads & upgradation of border roads in Turtuk

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur will lay the foundation stone for strategic roads and upgradation of border roads in Turtuk today. Construction of new Hendenbrok-Zingpal road and upgradation of four other roads will be taken up to strengthen the strategic connectivity and socioeconomic development.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that Ladakh LG Mr Mathur lay foundation for construction of Hanuthang – Hendenbroke – Zingpal- Turtuk road. This road connects Turtuk in Nubra with Hanuthang in Batalik sector. The new road cut the distance from 395 to 61 kilometres and travel time from 10 hours to two and half hours. This strategic road close to Pakistan border, will be passing through a 17 thousand 400 feet Stukpachan pass aswell. Similarly,  a total length of 235 kilometres of Khaltse – Batalik Road, Kargil- Dumgil Road, Khalsar – Agaham – Shyok Road and Tangtse – Lukung roads will be upgraded. Project Vijayak and Himank of Border Roads Organization will begin works of these roads soon. In foundation laying ceremony on Friday in Turtuk, Kargil and Leh CECs Feroz Ahmed Khan, Tashi Gyaltson, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar and DG BRO Lt Gen Rajiv Choudhary also participate.</span><br />
