In Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, Buddha Purnima was celebrated with traditional and religious gaiety.AIR correspondent reports, entire Ladakh seemed illuminated with illumination of monasteries, Buddhist Stupa and residential colonies on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. The Leh town with Buddhist prayer flags has wore colorful look. There are also reports of organizing meditation and special prayer at many monasteries in different villages to mark the occasion. The main function was held at Leh town during which for the first time , the Buddhist monks have performed ritual mask dances on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
