Ladakh: Annual Capex Budget of 232.42 crore rupees approved for year 2020-2021

<span style="color: #222222;">In Ladakh, amid the spread of the Corona virus pandemic, the Annual General Meeting of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil could not be held this year, but the annual plan was approved in the meeting of the Executive Council.<br />'' <br />'' After the formation of Union Territory of Ladakh, the first Annual Capex Budget of 232.42 crore rupees of for the year 2020-2021 was approved during a meeting of the Executive Council under the chairmanship of the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan on last evening.<br />'' <br />'' The budget comprises of a total allocation of 10,637.73 lakh rupees under the Engineering Sector and 12604.27 lakh rupees under the Non-Engineering Sector for execution of major works and the purchase of Machinery and Equipments and Motor Vehicles.<br />'' <br />'' The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan informed during the meeting that prior to the approval of the draft plan, due consent has been taken from all the 30 Councilors of the LAHDC, Kargil.  <br />'' <br />'' The CEC said, the focus of the Council this year will be on Health, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries. He further stated that focus would also be laid to strengthen the Cooperative Societies in the district to make them efficient, functional and resourceful.<br />'' <br />'' The meeting also decided to fix a ceiling of 1.50 crore rupees in respect of all new schemes/works in different sectors besides the enhancement of CCDF funds of the Councilors as well as the Untied Funds of the CEC, LAHDC, Kargil and the DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to deal with emergency situations.<br />'' <br />'' The CEC also expressed gratitude to the Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Radha Krishna Mathur for allotting an enhanced ceiling of  232.42 crore rupees for the annual Capex Budget of Kargil district for the year 2020-2021.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Khan said, utmost care should also be taken to ensure that funds earmarked are properly utilized for the particular scheme and strict adherence of codal formalities is ensured.</span><br />''  <br />
