<span style="color: #222222;">In Ladakh, in view of forthcoming sowing season, Agriculture Secretary Saugat Biswas reviewed the modalities of distribution of seeds and fertilisers to farmers and de-siltation of irrigational canals in wake of the lockdown due to COVID-19.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that to ensure non-disruption of usual agricultural work in the wake of COVID-19 in Ladakh, the Agricultural  Secretary  has  directed  the Executive Engineers of Irrigation and Flood Control in Leh and Kargil districts to complete  the desiltatiion  of irrigational canals within this week. He also directed them to ensure  un interrupted  water supply  to the farmers.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The seed distribution have already  completed  for the forthcoming  sowing season. The Agriculture  Department  is also  preparing  to distribute  vegetable seedlings among  the farmers through its farms.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Agriculture  Secretary has also directed the officials of agriculture department for conducting field visits to ensure sufficient availability of water, soap and home-made masks during the farming activities. The farmers are also advised to strictly follow social distancing while working in the fields.</span><br />
