In Union Territory of Ladakh, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor Umang Narula appealed to Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, IIRS, to find solutions for water shortage and possible options for water in drought-prone areas of the region.<br />'' <br />'' He also asked the IIRS to explore the prospects of other local crops along the Sea buckthorn's potential in Ladakh.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Narula reviewed the progress of various projects under the Geo-Ladakh. UT, Ladakh and IIRS have signed an MoU for Geo Ladakh Project, earlier this year.<br />'' <br />'' The project consists of ecological studies, key plant species, availability of water resources, food hazard, modeling and forecast of renewable energy, solar energy potential estimation, mineral prospects, studies on Red lake and demonstration of Geo-Ladakh portal.<br />'' <br />'' IIRS delegation informed that the Portal provides geospatial data visualisation and analytics for UT-Ladakh, consisting of Spatial viewer, Carbon Neutrality and Geospatial utility mapping and Geo-Tourism.<br />'' <br />''UT Principal Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal and senior UT officials from various departments present in the review meeting
