Ladakh Administration strengthening covid testing facilities in UT

<span style="color: #222222;">Ladakh Administration is strengthening its covid testing facilities. The Union Territory has procured new machines to strengthen the existing eight testing facilities in two districts of Leh and Kargil. AIR Leh correspondent reports that in one year of Covid times, the youngest Union Territory Ladakh has become Atma Nirbhar in testing facilities. Last year during the initial months of Covid19 pandemic, Ladakh was dependent on Delhi and Chandigarh for testing it's samples.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Started from the scratch, UT Ladakh has now eight testing facilities in Leh and Kargil districts. Over thousand samples are being tested daily in these labs, truly following testing, testing and testing mantra of WHO for effective covid management. UT has procured, Eleven Bio Safety Cabinets (BSC) of Level-II for setting up of Cartridge Based Nucleic Acid Amplification (CB-NAAT) facilities to decentralize the Covid19 testing further at Block level, across Ladakh region.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">To ensure thorough sterilization, the Administration also procured eleven Autoclave machines as well. The testing machinery and equipment from CSIR Labs were airlifted by Chinook helicopter from Air Force Stations of Chandigarh and Jammu to Leh on Saturday. On the other hand, MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated registration, sampling and screening cabin at Leh airport. Leh district administration has set-up a 24 hours covid command centre to monitor the situation.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Leh DC Shrikant Suse reviewed stockings of Covid medicines in Leh, while Kargil DC Santosh Sukhdeve geared up the administration to increase the screenings as the Srinagar-Leh High way reopened for the traffic. </span><br />''  <br />
