These regions remain cutoff with rest of the world during the long winter months. UT Administration intends to provide air facilities to passengers, patients, students, officers and officials along with the tourists.<br />''<br />''Construction works are in progress after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for the terminal building and expansion of Leh airport. Similarly, Kargil is under consideration for civil air transportation. The new proposed Airstrips in Padum and Nyoma will facilitate transportation and also boost the tourism sector and economic development of these untapped portions of Ladakh Region.</span><br />
