<span style="color: #222222;">In Ladakh, the Union Territory administration has issued notification for 6th General Council elections for Ladakh Àutonomous Hill Development Council Leh. Under the directions from Lieutenant Governor R K Mathur, Ladakh election department Secretary Saugat Biswas issued the notification yesterday. The polls will be held on 16th October.<br />''<br />''After becoming the capital of UT Ladakh, Leh will be having a major election in October. As per the notification, nominations for 6th General Council will begin from 21st September for a week. On 29th September the nominations will be scrutinized. On 1st October withdrawals of nominations will be allowed. If necessary, the polling will take place on 16th October and counting of votes on 22nd October. The process of general council elections will be completed by 27th October. The tenure of present Council expires on 2nd November. In the meantime, Leh Election Officer Sachin Kumar Vaishya has issued a Model code of conduct(MCC) for Leh Hill Council Election in the district.
