Labour ministry recommends rationalization of labour laws for equitable employment growth

The Union Labour ministry has recommended rationalization of labour laws for equitable employment growth. It has also asked for broadening the ambit of labour reforms for achieving this objective. <br/><br/>The ministry in its first report to the people on employment has set out short term and medium term strategies to ensure gainful employment opportunities for all the working people with particular emphasis on the disadvantage groups. <br/><br/>The report advocates to utilize the demographic dividend effectively by focusing on generating gainful employment for youth and women. <br/><br/>The present Annual Report is first in the series of five reports to the people on education, health, employment, environment and infrastructure as announced by the President, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, while addressing the Joint Session of both the Houses of Parliament on the fourth of June, last year after UPA-II came into power at the centre.
