Minister of Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today conferred the National Safety Council of India (NSCI ) Safety Awards – 2016 on 70 organistions at a function in New Delhi. The awards are given in four categories – Sarvashreshtha suraksha Puraskar, shreshtha suraksha puraskar, suraksha puraskar and prasansha patra. Safety awards are national level awards given for work place safety, health and environment. <br/><br/>The awardees are selected by National Safety Council of India in recognition of establishing effective safety management system and excellent safety and health performance by organisations in manufacturing, construction and MSME sectors. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dattatreya said the centre is working on a comprehensive strategy to bring employment to the core of development strategy, promoting industrial activity through "Make in India" and enhacing employbility through skill India. He said, his ministry has taken a number of steps towards inclusiveness. It is also working for extending the benefits of ESI scheme to unorganised labour.
