Over nine lakh new bank accounts have been opened in just six days of the launch of a campaign by Minsitry of Labour and Employment. The campaign was started by the Ministry on 26th of last month for workers especially in unorganized sector who still do not have bank accounts.<br/><br/>It aims at ensuring that all workers come into banking fold and their wages are paid directly into their account. An official release said, this will not only prevent exploitation of workers and payment of wages without cut but will also inculcate the habit of using cashless transactions.<br/><br/>It said, 25 crore 68 lakh Jandhan Accounts are already existing and all the left over workers are being covered through this campaign. The campaign is on and officers of the Ministry have been deputed for coordinating and supervising the bank account opening activities at the camps, across the country.
