The Supreme Court today reserved its order on a plea to quash the trial in the murder case of former Railway Minister L N Mishra on account of extraordinary delay of 37 years. A bench comprising justices H L Dattu and C K Prasad had commenced the hearing on July 25 on the petition filed by Ranjan Dwivedi . He is seeking quashing of the trial against him in the 1975 murder case.
However, the CBI opposed his plea and said since the trial was in a concluding stage, it should be allowed to continue to its logical end.
