In Tamil Nadu, the state government appointed expert panel to look into the safety aspects of the Kundankulam nuclear power project, submitted its report to the Chief Minister Ms Jayalalitha at the Secretariat this evening. Later, speaking to newsmen, the Convener of the Committee, Prof Iniyan said, the group had visited the nuclear power project site, looked into the safety aspects and had discussions with the representatives of the group spearheading the anti-Kundankulam agitation. Refusing to divulge any details on the report, Prof Iniyan said, the state government had to take a call on the report.
