K'tka: Yeddyurappa sets fresh deadline to reinstate him as CM

The political climate in Karnataka remains cloudy with Yeddyurappa setting up deadline for BJP national leaders to replace Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda. He held parleys with BJP MLAs royal to him in the morning.

Thereafter he set a deadline till four in the afternoon. He told reporters that his next political move will be announced in the press conference at 4.00 pm.

It is believed that some 40 legislatures loyal to Yeddyurappa have handed over their resignation letters to him to express their solidarity.

The State Party President K S Eeshwarappa has however expressed hope that Yeddyurappa will not take any drastic step. On previous occasions too Yeddyurappa had used threat to leave BJP while pressing for his demands.

It is indeed ironical that Sadanand Gowda who was elected as legislative party leader with the support of Yeddyurappa is now on his wrong side.
