<span style="color: #222222;">In Karnataka, following sudden upsurge in COVID-19 positive cases in capital Bengaluru during the last few days, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) today  launched 'Vigilance Squads' to crackdown on inter-state travelers defying the Home quarantine rules. The BBMP has formed 50 such vigilance squads across different assembly constituency limits with 15 members in each of the squad.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  According to BBMP Commissioner Anil Kumar, the squads will operate in their respective zones tracking every movement of the person under home quarantine.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  Meanwhile, 210 new Covid -19 positive cases were reported in Karnataka, during the last twenty four hours, taking the total number of cases to 7944. 179 persons were discharged from various hospitals. With this, the total number of people that have been cured from the disease so far has increased to 4983 in the state. 12 people lost their lives to COVID-19 during last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 114. 8,709 swab collections were tested today, taking the total samples tested to 4,73,57.</span><br />''  <br />
