Karnataka will file a review petition in the Supreme Court today or tomorrow for reconsidering its decision to release 9000 Cusecs of water to Tamilnadu everyday till October 20th. Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter informed in Bangalore today that Water Resources minister Basavaraj Bommai has left for New Delhi to discuss legal matters with Senior Counsel appearing for the State in the Supreme Court on Cauvery issue. The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister should send a study team to drought hit areas of Karnataka to know the ground situation. He asked farmers, religious heads, pro-Kannada organisations and others staging protest to maintain peace, assuring them that the Government will safeguard their interest. Meanwhile agitation continues in the Cauvery belt by different organisations.
