Karnataka Lokayukta Shivaraj Patil said he will act on the illegal mining report and Governor H R Bhardwaj's recommendation after completely studying the voluminous report. Speaking to the media persons on Tuesday, Justice Patil said the provisions to initiate action against B S Yeddyurappa, H D Kumaraswamy and others who were named in the report are being examined by him.Governor had sent his comment to Lokayukta seeking further action by Lokayukta police in this regard. Justice Patil informed that an action plan and road map will be prepared by this month end to improve the effectiveness of Lokayukta. He informed that conviction rate in Lokayukta cases has gone up to 45 percent this year. But he stressed that corruption is so rampant within the system that Lokayukta has to further strengthen its muscles at prosecution, trial and conviction levels.
