In Karnataka, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar has resigned owing moral responsibility after allegations surfaced that he illegally received G category site in Bangalore. Suresh Kumar had submitted his resignation letter to the Chief Minister on Saturday morning.
Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda has refused to accept the resignation saying that the minister has not done anything wrong and will return after charges are cleared. Suresh Kumar says, the affidavit given to the Bangalore Development Authority by him saying he does not own any site in Bangalore was true, as he was allotted site only in April last year.
He said, the declaration of assets given to Lokayuktha by him also shows that he has not violated any norms. Returning the plot allotted to him to the Government, Suresh Kumar has said that he only resigned to prevent embarrassment to his party and Government and will not return as minister till the charges are cleared.
