Karnataka government today presented the second agriculture budget, announcing a number of concessions to farmers. In his speech in the assembly, the Chief Minister Mr Sandananda Gowda, who also holds the finance portfolio said despite drought conditions state had achieved 92 percent of the target food grain production of 124 lakh tonnes .Detailing the steps to be taken to promote agro based sectors, Mr Gowda said for the first time in the country an integrated Agricultural development policy will be unveiled soon. He said state could get 62,000 crore rupees investment following the agriculture and food processing summit held in Bengaluru recently.Mr Sadananda Gowda said five New Botanical gardens will be established in Mysore, Tumkur, Sirsi and Kannamangala in Bengaluru. He also announced that a Mango development centre will come up at Kolar and 2 flower auction centre at Chikkanahalli in Tumkur and Davangere.The chief minister will later present the general budget after tabling the agriculture budget.
