K’taka CM Sadanand Gowda wins Council election

Chief Minister of Karnataka, D V Sadanand Gowda has won the Council election on Thursday. The Legislative Assembly members exercised their franchise in the election and gave 123 votes to Sadanand Gowda.Congress candidate Anand Gaddadevaramatt got 69 votes and seven votes were declared invalid. Being a Lok Sabha member, it was mandatory for Mr. Sadanand Gowda to be elected to the state legislature within six months to continue as Chief Minister.After the victory, the Chief Minister thanked all the members who supported him and informed that he will resign from his Lok Sabha seat within eight days.
