K’taka: CM Gowda resigns, Shetter to be sworn-in tomorrow

In Karnataka, Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda submitted his resignation letter to the Governor H R Bharadwaj paving the way for Jagadish Shetter to assume charge tomorrow. Speaking to the media persons, Mr. Gowda surmised his eleven months rule and wished the best to the new incumbent. He hoped that the party will stand united to face the election next year.
The Chief Minister elect, Jagadish Shetter also met the Governor along with national leader Rajnath Singh and state party incharge Dharmendra Pradhan along with former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and others. He will be sworn in tomorrow as the 21st Chief Minister of the state. Yeddyurappa’s faction had demanded for leadership change and asked the Central leaders to replace him with Jagadish Shetter.

A Press Communique from Raj Bhavan says that the Governor has accepted the resignation of Mr.Sadanand Gowda and invited Mr.Jagadish Shetter to form the new Government.
