In Karnataka, Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter has convened a meeting today afternoon to discuss mass exodus of people from North East region from Bangalore. The meeting will be attended by the Home Minister R Ashoka and top police officials. Thousands had arrived at the Bangalore city railway station yesterday night after rumours of people from north east are being targeted in the city. Due to the rush for tickets for Guwahati Express Railways had arranged two special trains yesterday. Home Minister had visited the railway station and persuaded them to stay back and had assured police protection. The Divisional Railway Manager, Bangalore informed our Correspondent that 250 tickets were booked today for Guwahati Express and he added that if rush prevails, they will think of introducing special train today also.
