BJP National leader Rajnath Singh announced in Bangalore today that the BJP legislature party has elected Jagadish Shettar as its new leader. He was speaking to the media persons after the meeting concluded in Bangalore. He also added that the new leader Jagadish Shettar will meet the Governor tomorrow at 2 pm to submit the resolution passed by the legislative party. He said that new Chief Minister will take oath of office on Thursday.

Replying to a question whether Deputy Chief Minister's post has been finalised, Mr. Rajnath Singh said, the new Chief Minister will decide on his Cabinet after assuming charge.

Later speaking to the media persons, Jagadish Shettar said, he is unanimously elected as the new leader and his priority will be to deal with drought situation severely affecting people in several taluks in the state.
