K’taka: BJP Govt reduced to wafer thin majority

In Karnataka, the BJP Government is reduced to wafer thin majority with the Speaker K G Boppaiah accepting the resignation of 12 MLAs yesterday. One of the MLAs Vittal Katakagonda’s resignation letter was not accepted due to technical reasons. The sources in KJP say that Mr.Vittal will re-submit his resignation to the Speaker tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter has reiterated that resignation of 12 MLAs will not affect his government and he will present the budget on 8th of next month. He held consultations with other senior BJP leaders on the prevailing situation in Bangalore today.

The Congress Party State President Mr.Parameshwar has said that the BJP Government should step down as it does not enjoy absolute majority in the Assembly.
