External Affairs Minister SM Krishna will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and his Israeli counterpart Avigador Lieberman in Tel Aviv today.

It will be followed by the delegation level talks and signing of agreements.

Mr Krishna will visit the Indian war cemetery in the capital Tel Aviv built in the memory of 70 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British rulers in the Middle East.

The External Affairs Minister called on the Israeli President Shimon Peres yesterday. The two leaders held talks on wide ranging issues. During the talks the emphasis was on enhancing bilateral co-operation in security, trade and commerce.

Extradition treaty and transfer of sentenced persons are the two important agreements likely to be signed during the visit.

The visit also commemorates two decades of establishing diplomatic ties between India and Israel.
