The External Affairs Minister S M Krishna met Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of G-15 meeting in Tehran and exchanged views on regional and mutual concern including situation in Afghanistan. <br/> <br/>The External Affairs Minister S M Krishna told that terrorism is common challenge for both the countries and our strategic partnership with Afghanistan will continue. <br/> <br/>On relations with Iran, he said India looks forward to strengthening relations with Iran and stressed that though his visit is related to G-15 summit but it is also bilateral in nature. Speaking during the meeting with Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani expressed the happiness on growing economic relations between India and Iran.<br/> <br/>Briefing newspersons after the meeting the spokesperson of the external affairs ministry told that Shri SM Krishna told Iranian parliament speaker about Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s vision to make south Asia the region of peace and prosperity. Reminding the meeting of Prime minster Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousouf Raza Gilani in Thimpu recently, he said that India want cordial ties with Pakistan. <br/> <br/>The spokesperson informed that 16th joint commission meeting of India- Iran will be held in New Delhi soon, following the last meeting which was held in Tehran during October 2008. He also informed that Indian Lok Sabha speaker has been invited by Iranian speaker to visit Iran. <br/> <br/>The External Affairs Minister visited the Gurudwara in Tehran and met members of Indian community on Sunday. <br/>
