Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna has called for a sustainable mixed land use pattern in the cities to improve urban transport systems. Inaugurating the annual meet on sustainable urban transport project in New Delhi today, he said unless a proper and efficient transport system is put in place, growth of slums in the cities cannot be curbed. Mr Krishna urged all the stakeholders, including city planning agencies, to pull their resources together for such a system in the country.
