Minister of State for Civil Aviation Gen.V K Singh has said the Krishi Udan Scheme covers 58 airports in the country. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister said that it primarily focuses on 25 airports in North Eastern, Hilly and Tribal regions, besides 33 airports in the other areas. The Minister said, this scheme has been launched to assist farmers in transporting agricultural products. He said, for facilitating and boosting the movement of agri products, Airport Authority of India is providing the infrastructure.
