Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaqi dismissed yesterday six ministers, in a move justified as an action of improving the government's performance. Two coalition partners — Thaqi's PDK and President Fatmir Sejdiu's LDK — replaced three ministers each, with no explanations on the move. The Kosovo government is criticized for corruption in many domestic and international reports. Local media reported last week that European Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo is investigating some ministers on corruption, and requested their dismissal in order to conduct the investigation.
