Ranked 32nd in the world, Jayaram had defeated sixth placed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and seventh seed Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei on his way to the Final, but now finds the world number one in way of his first title this year.Jayaram had reached the semi-finals of Malaysia Masters Grand Prix, Swiss Open Grand Prix and Russian Open Grand Prix this season.
