The situation in Idinthakarai, Tamil Nadu has been totally brought under control. Speaking to media, Tirunelveli district Superintendent of Police Vijayendra Bidari informed this. Protesters are continuing their fast on the second day today against the decision to load enriched uranium in the nuclear reactor of Koodankulam nuclear power plant.After a series of violent protests for the past two days, the situation in Idinthakarai is now calm and peaceful. The fast undertaken by protesters have entered the second day today. People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy convener Udayakumar and Pushparayan have not surrendered before police as announced earlier. Tirunelveli Superintendent of Police Vijayendra Bidari said that police has arrested more than 45 persons for indulging in violence and they are chasing those who led the protests. Many people in the State want the problem to be solved as soon as possible and electricity generated from Koodankulam Nuclear Power plant.
