The director of the Koodankulam nuclear Power Project Mr. M. Kasinath Balaji has said that the plant has been designed to withstand any natural disasters including tsunami threat.

In a joint press conference, Mr. Balaji told newsmen in Chennai that the Tsunami data for hundred years have been analysed to design the plant.

Affirming that the nuclear plant can withstand even man made disasters, he told that there was nothing abnormal in the venture.

The Station Master of the Project site, Mr. R S Sundar also has said that there was no question of danger to the public.
